Example # 2
The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) defines the work breakdown structure as a “deliverable oriented hierarchical decomposition of the work to be executed by the project team.” Division of the main work into smaller works depending upon the importance or level of work. Each activity is given a unique number like heading numbers in a thesis and is further divided into sub headings and the numbering is continued. A typical example of a work breakdown structure is shown in the following image. The lowest level works of a WBS are called work packages. WBS are very much important in planning.
